Classes and Special Events for Adults

Yoga is a 5,000 year-old science designed to strengthen and energize the physical body while calming the mind and reducing stress. At Moving Spirit, gifted instructors adapt the practice of Kripalu Yoga (a form of Hatha Yoga) to support your personal goals, abilities, and needs.

Workshops at Moving Spirit provide an opportunity for you to learn about the latest in health, wellness, holistic, and healing concepts. We host a variety of local, national and international professional to share their expertise with the community and add valuable insights for a healthy and peaceful lifestyle. Visit our website or the table in our lobby for topics and times. Special workshops and new classes are added throughout the year:

Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy
This is a one-on-one holistic healing art that combines the ancient science of yoga with elements of contemporary body/mind psychology to bring awareness to unresolved emotional issues and their impact on the client's life. Using classic yoga postures, breath, dialogue, visualization, and other techniques, the client moves through blocks that prevent him from realizing his full potential. Scheduled on an individual basis.

Individual Yoga Instruction
Design a customized yoga practice to meet your specific needs! Athletes, people with chronic or specialized health conditions, and anyone desiring a more in-depth approach, can benefit from this one-on-one instruction. Scheduled on an individual basis.

Massage Therapy
Soothe your muscle aches while decreasing stress! Licensed massage therapist Holly Jenness combines Reiki with Kripalu massage for a relaxing and rejuvenating session. Call the studio for rates and availability at 603 886-7308.

Pricing and Scheduling for Adult Classes

  • Adult classes are on-going. New students may enroll at any time.
  • The studio is occasionally closed for renewal during holidays.
  • Classes are purchased in 8 week units. Students may use classes as they wish within the 8 week time frame. Classes must be used up within 8 weeks of enrollment.
  • Tuition is due at the beginning of an 8 week session.
  • Missed classes may be made up at another class within the 8 weeks. Payment for missed classes is non-transferable and non-refundable.
  • Individual casses may be purchased at the drop-in rate for those unable to attend regularly. The registration fee still applies.
  • Please pre-register for Prenatal Yoga. Prenatal Yoga is offered at a special discounted rate of $14.50 per class.

Special Events and Instruction Pricing

Fees for private yoga instruction, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, and massage depend on the instructor/therapist and length of session. Please contact Moving Spirit for further information.

Fees for special events are prices separately and will be announced for each event.

Beginner/All Level Yoga
Explore the fundamentals of yoga in a supportive,
welcoming environment. In this class, you will
learn yoga postures, breathing, and relaxation
techniques to build or expand your yoga practice.
Strengthen, balance, and energize your body and mind!
Beginner to experienced students welcome! Teachers
are trained to help you adapt the practice to support
your personal goals and abilities.

Creative Dance and Yoga for Adults
Have you always wanted to dance, yet were afraid
to take the first step? This is a perfect class
for you! Explore modern dance techniques, creative
expression, improvisation, and choreography in a
non-competitive setting. Have fun tapping into
your full movement potential while increasing body
awareness, flexibility, and strength.

Somatic Yoga
Improve strength, tone, and flexibility! Develop
a deeper sense of body awareness. This class combines
yoga postures with somatic movement to integrate the
whole body with an emphasis on core stability, neutral
alignment, breath, and tension relief.

Experienced Somatic Yoga
Expand your horizons! This class is for students
who have a solid foundation in yoga and practice
regularly. Learn more challenging postures/variations
and advanced somatic movement. Build endurance as you
discover more confidence, creativity, and joy!

Parent and Toddler Moving Together - Ages 1 1/2 to 3
Join in the fun of moving together as a parent/toddler
team! Using age appropriate yoga postures, dance,
music, and games, your children will expand their
movement vocabulary. Watch them grow creatively,
increase body awareness, and develop confidence as
they explore the world around them!

Prenatal Yoga
A special class for expectant mothers: breathe, relax,
strengthen, and rejuvenate your body! Come to this
nurturing class to learn how to support your body and
baby during pregnancy. Experience how yoga can increase
health and wellness and reduce stress. Wear loose,
comfortable clothing. Invite other expectant mothers
to share in this healthy afternoon with you!

Tai Chi
Build concentration and coordination through Tai Chi
Chuan, an ancient Chinese exercise. This class begins
with gentle warm-up exercises followed by instructions
for the Yang style short form and some basic Chi Kung
breathing exercises. The Yang style short form sequence
consists of 24 slow continuous movements, and will take
two 8-week sessions to learn. No experience necessary --
all are welcome.

Gentle Yoga and Meditation
Explore the in-depth connection of yoga and
meditation. Learn postures that will assist
and gently support you in moving into a meditation
practice. Discover meditation techniques to focus
and calm the mind.
